1_1. Principles and practices¶
This week assigment¶
Plan and sketch a potential final project¶
What I want to do in the future¶
Before I talked about the final project, I sketched out what I wanted to do in the future.
It is a diagram of the forest circulation.
We use a lot of wood for home building.
So I think it is also necessary to plant trees and grow forests.
However, forest creation has the following problems.
The problem of forestation¶
-
Due to the low birthrate, aging population and depopulation of the countryside, there is not enough manpower to maintain the forest.
-
The price of wood is low and the forestry business is unprofitable.
-
Young people do not want to do, because it is dangerous and hard work.
I thought about using a machine to solve these.
The area is planned and trees are planted, harvested and used as needed.
Unnecessary areas will be converted into natural forests mainly with hardwoods.
However, it is now impossible to make all of this.
This project.¶
So, for this final project at the Academy,
just a few of them, I would like to challenge the openable skylights (lotus windows) to be attached to the dome house.
The rain sensor closes the window when it rains.
Open the window when the room temperature exceeds 25 ° C with the temperature sensor and close the window when the room temperature falls below 20 ° C. (Adjustable)
This time, I would like to test the air flow by attaching this window to a 4m diameter dome machined by CNC.
And what does that do?¶
In my opinion, two elements are necessary for sustainable forest development.
-
The first is to ensure that the wood from the forest is used effectively for society.
-
Secondly, it is possible to make money from it and provide funds for forestation.
We would like to promote “Lotus Window” as a product that fulfills these two roles.
Who will use it?¶
- The person who builds the dome house.
- It can also be used for general residential use.
- Installed as an automatic ventilation system for facilities, etc.
