Week 1- Final Project

my biggest hobby of all time is filmmaking, one of the biggest challenge in filmmaking field is the cost. the tools really cost a lot of money so I wanna used the technology of digital fabrication to make a modular camera moving kit that can do three main function

  • Slider

    • A camera slider is a set of bracketed tracks that mounts to a light stand. The slider has a movable "carriage" that you can attach directly to your camera. Sliders allow you to smoothly move the camera on a horizontal plane (left to right or a backward/forward motion).

  • Pan

    • Panning is when you move your camera horizontally; either left to right or right to left, while its base is fixated on a certain point. You are not moving the position of the camera itself, just the direction it faces.

  • Tilt

    • Tilting is when you move the camera vertically, up to down or down to up, while its base is fixated to a certain point. Again, like panning, this move typically involves the use of a tripod where the camera is stationary but you move the angle it points to.

so the kit will consist of three main part

  1. The base:

    2. in which the slider carrige, the pan head or the tilt head will be mount on

  2. The modular parts

    3. the slider carrige, the pan head and the tilt head.

  3. the controller kit

    4. that will mainly consist of brain, steppermotors, joy stick, communication network.
