Week 18- Project Development
Overview
For this week we have to complete our final project plus tracking and documenting my progress by answering the following questions.
Have you?
what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
what has worked? what hasn't?
what questions need to be resolved?
what will happen when?
what have you learned?
what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
I have completed my FINAL PROJECT and all of my ASSIGNMENTS instead of CNC Router -Make something big- as I still haven't any access the machine due to Covid-19.
what has worked? what hasn't?
Everything worked as expected to work Thanks to God except for minor challenges that I managed to resolve or find a work-around for them
-
At the beginning I've designed a one board using Atmega328 to be the single board (input-output)
of
Aincrad, however due to the time I end up use networking to communicate between the soundsensor
board and the rgb-control board.
Atmega328 board.
Networking between soundsensor and RGB control.
-
The multi-color version of rgb-board didn't give the effect I was hopping for due to the two
leds
being really close to each others.
-
At the beginning when I was creating the base I've used a 3D printing mold box instead of
silicon
and the result wasn't good at all.
3D molding box failing results.
Final glowing castle base.
what questions need to be resolved?
No questions related to my assignments or final project are still needed to be resolved.
what will happen when?
-
For final project
the deadline for myself is 5/8/2020 and I also booked 12/8/2020 to present my final project, but the session have delayed to 19/8/2020.
-
For the Assignments
Due to Covid-19 I cann't set an exact date, but I will plan to finish all of my assignments by 1/10/2020.
what have you learned?
Looking back to the academy it was a great journey with a challenging experience due to the panademic of coronavirus, yet it help me so much to increase my knowledge and learn more about myself. so I would like to use this question to describe what I have learned in a technical and a personal way.
Technical Side
- I was familier with html and css yet I update my knowledge with newer skills in how to make simple animation using css.
-
I learned a lot of advanced topics and tools in CAD design that helped me so much finishing my assignments.
-
I challenge my process in Electronics design and production, yet it survive and I came out with a lot of insights that help me to improve it even more.
-
3D scanning, CNC machining "CAM", Molding and casting, Intellectual property all of them were new to me and it was really fun to learn them by implementing the results in my final project.
Personal Side
-
Managing my time
Fab Academy is a very intense and time demanding. to survive I had to plan my week decide what I were going to do everyday focusing on one thing at a time, not only that but also due to Covid-19 I didn't work on the academy for almost a 6 weeks and it was a really challenging to come back from this and be able to finish my project before the deadline.
-
Document as I Go !
to be honest documentation is the way you have to show your work to the world. If you don't document it, you haven't done it, yet documentation process isn't fun and it was really hard to spend a whole day doing it at the end of the assignments.
-
Know what others have done and give them credit
I start by investigation what others have done then plan my steps to reach my goals.
-
Learning is fun always remember that !
