6. 3D Scanning and printing

Group assignments for the week

  • Test the design rules for your printer(s)

Hardwere

Phrozen Make: LCD UV curing resin 3D printer.

  • Printing area: 12 * 6.8 * 14 cm

  • Resolution: 47 µm for XY and 10 µm for Z axis

Interface

The interface that machine’s server provide. Link to same Wifi and go to IP shows on printer’s panel in a browser.

Calibrate Z-axis frist. Unscrew the print bed and start calibrate. I like to fill resin when bed down at calibrate position to prevent over flow.

Fill up resin just a little more than enough.

Note: althought resin can be recycle, it will be more “thicker” each round to be print.

Upload files

Skip this step (softwere that we think hard to operate)

Check files will be print.

While printing.

Test the LCD 3D printer

Frist test : only half of the area can print.

Empty LCD test: remove resin tank, keep shields sets and see if LCD works.

The bed can not be clean by just wiping and washing with Ethnol nor IPA.

It needs a blade “shave” the bed to cleaning.

Test result

  • Linear size is good
  • Bridging should be larger then 0.3 mm
  • Positive square 0.3 mm
  • Negative square 0.3 mm
