1. State of the art, Project management and documentation

I'm a maker from a very young age. Since I was a child I have enjoyed working with the fusion of different materials, especially taking advantage of the properties of lightweight materials such as natural fibers and taking their best performance out of them.

I´m a fashion designer specialized in Footwear and Luxury Accessories design with a sustainable mindset and Industrial Design background. I like to combines aesthetics, function, ethics and innovation. I´m into an innovative, provocative and modernistic design with the use of new materials and technologies. Passionate in research, prototyping and handle the end-to-end process. I was a TEDx speaker and I collaborate with Wlater Gonzales in the book Neo Handicraft in América: Methods to incorporate digital fabricaion prosses into handicrafts.

This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.

Research

"Not only to make products that looks great, but also that works"

Paul Gaudio; Adidas Global Creative Director

My research begins on how to use digital manufacturing, bio materials and circular system to create footwear that is not only beautiful, but also excellent in its performance, useful for the environment and accessible to more people.

Having Adidas as a sponsor has motivated me to explore the projects they have developed and identify areas of opportunity in which my final project can be beneficial for the sneakers and luxury industry.

Given this, my exploration begins with the use of natural and highly renewable materials such as bamboo and the development of a biomaterial that can replace leather in aesthetic, functional and persecution terms of use.

First documentation - References and research based

The first step is to get familiar with the code, where some see a tidy template just behind there is a code where text and numbers get along well. Documentation (Source: My documentation visual)

I got inspired of the documentation from Fabricademy alumni Lara Campos , Stephanie Santos , Ana Correa and Betiana Pavon.

Styling text

It’s good to keep it simple and aesthetic but don’t forget to use a simple code to give to your documentation an structure and style. Making it easy to go through your work for your mentors and peers.
